CASS LAWSON
ADM Writer / Photojournalist |

| Cass is both a photographer and journalist and he is originally from Scotland. He is a technical diving and rebreather instructor and teaches both here in the U.S.A. as well as in Europe. An accomplished photographer, his images and articles have been published on both sides of the pond. He has lived and worked as an instructor in the U.K., the Middle East, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Over the years, he has acquired a comprehensive portfolio of images from around the world. As well as his passion for underwater photography, Cass also runs Fathoms Photography, working as a photojournalist and commercial photographer locally and worldwide. He is compiling images for a book about the statues and memorials of Washington D.C., and he is still working on the final plot of a novel (and has been for years!) as well as writing a childrens book. The camera system of choice for Cass is Nikon D100 for underwater work in Ikelite housings with Ikelite DS125 strobes. One of the reasons that Ikelite housings is that it is possible to see any water ingress if the O rings have not been properly seated. Plus, Ikelite service is superb; I can send a strobe off to Ikelite and have them fix it and return it less than 10 days. above water, still with Nikon, the D200 is the camera of choice along with various lenses; the favorite at present is the new 18 200mm Vibration Reducing zoom lens. Cass lives and works in Washington D.C. although he travels extensively for his diving. E-Mail: cl@fathomsphotography.com Web: www.fathomsphotography.com Tel: (202) 415-2349 |
