Vlada spent the summers of her childhood in the scuba diving camps, set by the club of which her parents were members, on the shores of Sea of Japan in the Russian Far East. After a few years of begging, she was deemed old enough to finally try her fathers unit. With the instructions of do not hold your breath and pull this if it gets hard to breathe, she made her first scuba dive. Her fathers gear was too big, the 16C water rather chilly in a swimsuit, but nothing mattered it was love at first try.
Years later Vlada was expanding her dive education past her fathers early instructions when she decided to try a Photography dive. The place was Cozumel, and the beginners luck resulted in amazing pictures that took a few years and a lot more education to replicate. Vlada never dove without the camera ever since.
Living in Toronto, with all five of the Great Lakes within easy reach, wreck diving and photography soon became second nature. With the realization that more intact and rarely visited wrecks were deeper, came transition to technical and, later, cave diving. Eventually, just taking pictures was not enough and Vlada started researching and writing the ships stories, so that she could share the tales of the Great Lakes with the divers around the world.
Vladas pictures and stories were published in ADM, Wreck Diving, Canadian Diver and several local publications. Vlada is also a regular presenter at several Canadian and US scuba shows. Vlada lives in Toronto and is an executive of a major Canadian bank in her day job.
