| Biography Robyn is from Dania Beach, Florida where she works full-time as a Registered Nurse. Robyn has spent most of her life in south Florida where she spent many summer days of childhood having fun at the beach. Snorkeling was her favorite seaside activity, as she yearned to discover as many different sea creatures as possible. Robyns desire to see more of what lies beneath oceans surface intensified over the years and in 1994 she earned her Open Water Certification. Robyn was thrilled with this new opportunity to float freely in the open ocean and become one with the creatures that intrigued her. Robyn wanted the chance to explore a variety of ocean habitats, some which posed more of a challenge than others, so in 1996 she went on to earn her SSI Master Diver Certification. Shortly after becoming certified, Robyn bought herself her first underwater cameraa 35mm point and shoot. One of her biggest desires was to be able to show her non-diving friends and family members what the fuss was all about. As Robyns pictures began to take on better color and focus, she upgraded to a Sea & Sea MX-10. This allowed her to try a variety of add-on lenses and to experiment with different f-stop settings. While using the MX-10, Robyn captured a close-up shot of a Green Turtle which placed first in the 2003 Sea & Sea Photo Safari. Later, Kodak chose the same Green Turtle image to appear on their Times Square Gallery in New York City. At the present time, Robyn is using a Nikonos system and continues to win awards in photo contests and at juried art shows. In addition, she exhibits her work at various museums throughout the state of Florida and her images have been published in numerous magazines. Most recently, Robyn was selected as a feature photographer for the upcoming 2007 DAN calendar. As Robyn puts it, I believe that my passion for the undersea world is expressed through my photography. Being able to view the beauty of the ocean first-hand holds unspeakable meaning for me. Whats more, being able to capture and share these visions with those who dont know whats down there, makes it all the better.
